In this class we’ll cover everything you need to know about what encryption options are available to you in Office 365. We will cover all the different encryption technologies in Office 365, and how you can best use them to ensure your organizations data remains secure. In the first hour long session, we’ll do a complete review of what encryption technologies are in Office 365, and an overview of how each of them work. In the second session will dive deep into Right Management Services and Office 365 Message Encryption. This session will include live demonstrations of how to setup and use these technologies. In the third session we’ll dive into S/MIME and how you can secure the content of your files and email outside of Microsoft’s systems, ensuring that only you and the people you grant access can access your data. These three sessions will include all the information you need to know about these technologies, as well as live demonstrations that show you exactly how to configure and use encryption.
In addition to the technical sessions, Nathan will be available during each session for LIVE Q&A.
Course Agenda:
Session 1: Introduction to encryption in Office 365 – 11am EDT
This session will introduce you to the many different encryption technologies used in Office 365. You’ll learn about IRM, OME, BitLocker, Fort Knox, S/MIME, TLS, and more.
Session 2: Using and Configuring Rights Management Services in Office 365 – 1pm EDT
This session will dive deep into RMS in Office 365. You’ll see exactly how to configure and use RMS for both Exchange Online and SharePoint Online.
Session 3: Using and Configuring S/MIME in Office 365 – 3pm EDT
This session will dive deep into S/MIME. You’ll see exactly how to configure and use S/MIME in Office 365. As a bonus, I’ll also how you how to setup and use your PGP encryption to secure your messages and files outside of the encryption services made available by Microsoft.
About Our Instructor:
Nathan is a Microsoft Certified Solutions Master: Messaging and a Microsoft MVP for Office Servers and Services from Portland, OR. He specializes in Exchange, Office 365, Active Directory, Azure and a bit of Skype for Business.
He has spent over 20 years working in IT, starting as a Banyan Vines administrator for the United States Marine Corps. Since then Nathan has worked for companies like GE Capital, Kaiser Permanente, and a couple of mid-sized consulting firms. Nathan currently works as a consultant for SPS/ExtraTeam (spscom.com).
Nathan actively contributes to the Exchange and Office 365 communities by writing articles for several tech websites and his own blog (www.mcsmlab.com). He can be seen speaking at IT conferences including IT/DEV Connections, Microsoft Ignite, and in frequent webcasts for Redmond Magazine.
